I’d argue that rule breaking is necessary, whether it’s on an individual level like the man and the cigarette story, through the arts, or in the sociopolitical construct of the world in general. If the rules were obeyed all the time, there would be no change. The world would stagnate. We need rebellion and a little bit of fire starting to discover newer, better prospects. On a personal level being good all the time keeps us from knowing what we’re capable of or, like you mentioned, how creative one can be.
